At 12:00 IST, the BSE Sensex was down 543.06 points, or 3.49%, at 15,029.12, on weak cues from global markets. US stocks plunged on Friday, 6 June 2008, marking the Dow`s worst day in 15 months, after the US government said the May 2008 unemployment rate jumped the most in 22 years and oil prices shot to another record, renewing fears that the US economy faces 1970s-style stagflation.
The top losers form BSE`s B group shares were, Manoj Housing Finance Company (down 16% at Rs 10.50), Seshachal Technologies (down 15.85% at Rs 11.15), Aekta (down 15.16% at Rs 15.95), Narmada Gelatines (down 15.13% at Rs 53), Karur KCP Packagings (down 14.87% at Rs 37.50), VTM (down 14.29% at Rs 67.50), Winsome Yarns (down 13.88% at Rs 13.65), Ritesh International (down 13.78% at Rs 10.01), Sarda Plywood Industries (down 13.77% at Rs 25.05) and Elegant Marbles and Grani Industries (down 13.68% at Rs 41).
